About Us...

VNC Lifeline are your friendly 24 hour emergency alarm people!

We provide an emergency pendant alarm service for people in Merseyside and throughout the UK who wish to live independently at home. Our service is for people who are elderly and frail, or for people who live with a long term condition or who leave in fear of crime.

You simply wear a pendant around your neck, and if you need help at any time, 24 hrs a day, from anywhere in your home, you press your pendant. This will come through to us and we will get the help you need whether that's from a registered contact or the emergency services.

The service could not be easier to use. Find out more on our website http://www.vnclifeline.co.uk/. It could be for yourself, or a family member or friend. Call us now for a FREE demonstration on

Who would be there for you if you had a fall at home?  The answer: VNC Lifeline!

How shocking are these statistics from AgeUK's website: *
  • Every year, more than one in three (3.4 million) people over 65 suffer a fall that can cause serious injury, and even death
  • Every minute, six people over 65 suffer a fall.
  • Every hour, an older person dies as the result of a hip fracture from a fall.
And when you think that having a Lifeline alarm can help to quickly raise the alarm following a fall, why would anyone put themselves at risk without one?  Because the Lifeline button is worn on the user's body, it can raise alarm if someone is unable to reach a telephone, for example falling down the stairs, or tripping taking out a wheelie bin the front or back path.

You hear horror stories about people who have fallen and have been left unaided for literally days because they couldn't raise the alarm. This late response can result in far more serious resulting injuries and sadly, often, even death.  So why leave a loved one unprotected?  A telecare alarm can save a life.

See our website www.vnclifeline.co.uk for more details.

Keeping safe in a heatwave

Let's face it, us Brits like to complain enough about the British weather!  So now that the sun is shining (alot!), and we're enjoying lovely warm temperatures, let's not complain, but let's at least make sure that our loved ones - especially those who are older or more frail - are safe during the heatwave.

As a provider of the Lifeline service, we want to make sure all our residents stay safe in their homes.  Here are our top 5 heatwave survival tips, especially for those with limited mobility who aren't able to move around to keep cool:

1. Keep hydrated - It is important to drink lots in the heat.  This can be more difficult if you have limited mobility and can't get around to refill your drink, so try and have a jug of water near you to refill your glass during the day.  Avoid tea, coffee and alcohol.

2. Keep the curtains and blinds closed, to keep the room cool.  Ask a family member to help you with this if it could be a risk.

3.  Wear loose, cool clothing, and a hat is a must if you go outside!

4. Try and arrange for a family member or friend to call in on you to check you're ok.  You can always press your Lifeline pendant for us to get in touch with one of your contacts for you.

5. Keep informed of the weather forecast on the radio or TV and get one of our temperature gauge cards so you can keep a track on the temperature in your home.  These are free, and can be stuck to a fridge or radiator.  Call us on 0151 298 2440 and we will gladly post one out to you.

The Wonderful Thing that is Volunteering...

The Wonderful Thing that is Volunteering…

At a time when things are economically tough and there are so many demands on our time, why on earth would anyone volunteer their free time to a good cause like Lifeline?

Here’s our 5 top reasons why to volunteer with us:

1...It’s good to give something back to an organisation that has impacted on a person's life, either directly or indirectly – maybe a parent/neighbour/loved one had a Lifeline in the past that meant a lot to them.

2...Make a difference to the lives of others – there are many isolated and vulnerable people out there whose lives could be hugely helped by having a Lifeline, so helping us tell more people about Lifeline can really make a difference.

3...Spend quality time away from work or a busy lifestyle – to give even just an hour or two a week/month can be a refreshing break from the normal day-to-day routine of life.  As volunteer is a matter of choice, it is generally more fulfilling and rewarding.

4...Gain confidence, self-esteem and enhance your CV.  Because volunteering often involves going into an environment that you’re less familiar with, outside of paid work, you can gain confidence, learn new skills and build up a wealth experience for your CV, perhaps even enhancing your job prospects.

5...Get to know new people and the local community – We try and get out and about into the community as much as possible to promote the service.  Often this amongst the elderly, and we can guarantee that they are wonderful to talk to!  So many stories and insights in to life that will definitely enrich your experience!

5 reasons to choose us!

Making a decision to join a Lifeline service is not always easy...

First and foremost, you want the Lifeline service to protect either yourself or a loved one so that emergency help is there for them at the press of button.  Peace of mind you just couldn’t live without.  However, having decided that a Lifeline is the way forward, comes the question about who to go to for the service.

The answer is VNC Lifeline!  Here’s 5 reasons why:

1.       EXPERIENCE:  We have been delivering a first-class telecare service for over 20 years.  We have experience and you can trust us.  We’re not a new start up that is here today, gone tomorrow. Many of the staff have been with us for many years, and we’ve built up an excellent reputation over two decades.

2.       ACCREDITATION: We have are accredited – our credentials are there for all to see.  As you would expect from a telecare provider, we are accredited by the TSA (industry regulator) to prove that we meet standards around answering and dealing with calls.

3.       THE TEAM:  Our staff really care.  We have a great relationship with out customers – they are not just names on a database.  We speak regularly to many of our customers and make a point of calling each one on their birthday.  If an alarm is pressed in an emergency we will always stay on the line to reassure until help arrives.

4.       PRICE: Our weekly rental cost for Lifeline is only £2.99 a week.  Less than 50p a day (you can’t get much for that these days!).  What’s more, our weekly charge has not increased in 18 years.  You’ll struggle to find anything that hasn’t increased in price during that time.   We don’t make profit as we’re a charity.  Our small charge simply ensures that there’s a friendly voice at the end of the line, 24 hrs a day.

5.       FLEXIBILITY: Unlike mobile phone contracts you won’t be tying yourself in a lengthy contract with Lifeline.  We understand that circumstances change, so you can cancel the service at any time.  Also, if before joining you’re still not sure, we will happily give a free demonstration (no obligation!) in your home of how Lifeline works to put your mind at rest.  Nothing is too much trouble.

So, what are you waiting for?  Join Lifeline today with VNC Lifeline.  Or even if not for you, tell your family and friends about us.

What would 50p a day buy?

50p. How valuable is it really? What could 50p buy you today?

A chocolate bar? Maybe even a local newspaper?

But just think, once you have eaten the chocolate bar, and read and thrown away the newspaper...has that really added to your peace of mind and feeling of security and independence?

VNC Lifeline's daily cost for having a Lifeline alarm is less than 43p per day! And what's more, IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

If you live at home and want to stay at home, but you're worried about what would happen if you needed to raise an alarm for help, then think seriously about having a Lifeline installed. It will bring you invaluable peace of mind, and your family can rest assured that you're safe too.

Go on...it could be the best 50p you spend every day!
